Futility. I will be getting the model for Futility 3D scanned and then printed, once that’s done I will have to tidy it up and start casting it into resin for small commemorative memorial pieces. It would be nice to make small bronzes too but that’ll happen if people want them in bronze too. There was much talk amongst the BIOB and many other people who are interested and wish to order one let me know, this will take some time and will be very costly for me to produce, I know it’s been a long time but saving, let alone earning money during lock down has been all but impossible.
UPDATE; Much interest has been shown and I’ve already had over 10 people interested in purchasing Futility as a model, the 3D scanning is happening now and I’ll update shortly as I will be accepting pre-orders both in resin and bronze editions.
Futility. 3D scanning process.
Here is the final scan of Futility. The editing work will begin soon were I hope to be working closely with Ryan Garry on surgically dissecting the scan into component parts ready for printing, then it will be up to me to cast the individual parts into resin, (at some point some will be cast in proper bronze too,) ready for production.
This has been the most intricate, hands off method of reproducing art or sculpture I’ve ever been involved in, and it’s been truly inspirational to have seen and worked with many people on this project from inception to completion. A very big thank you from me to all those involved, including of course the late David Jones, who made the beautiful drawing that made all this work possible.
